MLML is a college field research station which studies a wide range of marine topics and sponsors a fun, interesting, family oriented Open House each October (831)771-4400. You can support research and public education programs at MLML through the Friends of Moss Landing Marine Labs, a non-profit organization (831)771-4418. The North Monterey County School
District has its central office and board of
education meetings here in Moss Landing. The
district includes elementary, middle schools and a
high school in North Monterey County. |
Moss
Landing is a center for marine
research as well. There are two marine research and
education institutions located here, Moss
Landing Marine Laboratories (MLML) and
Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute
(MBARI), and both have large research ships in
the harbor. It is also home to the state fish and
game mussel watch program.
